Julian de Hauteclocque Howe is a child of Asia. Born in Kobe, Japan in 1971, he attended primary school in Hong Kong, and spent his holidays traveling the Far East with his banker father, and anthropologist mother. Being a Western face in Asian surroundings, created a keen awareness of the cultural contrasts between the East and the West, which is constantly ex-pressed in Julians’ work today. Since 2004 Julian is based in Shanghai and did shootings for: Absolut, Bentley, Paco Rabanne, Lu Kun, Perrier, HSBC, Grey Goose, Gatorade. Celebrities photographed include: Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Lang Lang, Pearl Lam, Kai Kong Yong, Anthony Wong, Jia Zhang Ke, Li Yun Di. Julian’s work with top celebrities and international brands are featured in China’s top fashion magazines such as Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle,Wallpaper* UK and being commissioned by American &European publications.
